Daphne cneorum is an alpine daphne. A suckering dwarf shrub with showy bright pink scented flowers in spring.
Reaching only around 12 inches in height and often less, this is a spreading evergreen shrub with narrow deep green foliage.
Slow growing, Daphne cneorum has fragrant flowers and is an excellent addition to the rock garden. We have seen it used to underplant taller growing species with great success.
Over the year a number of cultivars have become available, some with improved flowers, others with variegated foliage. All have the same low growing prostrate growth habit.
For some reason Daphne cneorum is a little difficult to propagate from cuttings which, along with its slow growth rate may explain why it is not so readily available for sale.

Daphne cneorum Care
Daphne cneorum requires a neutral to acid, moist but free draining soil. Full sun in cooler climates, part shade in warmer areas.
Daphne cneorum is an excellent for dappled shade to full sun in colder climates
