Agave geminiflora

With its attractive symmetrical habit Agave geminiflora is one of the best small growing agaves for use in containers or the garden. Also known as the ‘Twin Flowered’ agave as the flower stems have twin tubular flowers.

Grown mainly for the foliage with its long mid green foliage, this is a neat symmetrical plant that will grow to cover around 3ft (1m) in a circle, excellent in a nice round terra cotta pot or container.

The foliage is deep green and this is an ‘un armed agave’ no spikes. Instead it puts out small white threads which add to the overall look.

Agave gemiflora will also provide a spectacular show of flowers with its flower spike. After flowering the parent plant will die, however the offsets can be replanted to replace the plant. The foliage is more upright in full sun and more relaxed in shade. Best outdoors in Zones 9 – 10

Landscaping uses Care and Growing Conditions
Grown in a container as a single specimen this is a most attractive plant. Also useful for planting as a low growing border.

Although after flowering the parent plant will die, it will have set pups or offsets that will take over.
